Laboratory glassware - Petri dishesThe workshop of the laboratory glassware in Rapotin is placed in picturesque valley of Jesenik mountains and has tradition of more than 50 years. It works with unique technology of processing flat glass, output of which are Petri dishes and glass for watches. In fact it was Rapotin glassworks where was for the first time in the history tested and consequently established the method of production of Petri dishes by forming from flat glass. Up till then Petri dishes had been produced by blowing method using the blowpipe.
In 2007 the handmade production was enlarged by automated line that has helped to increase the capacity keeping the quality of hand made products at the same time.
During final stage of cooling the surface of the product is modified by dealkalization process that enhances substantially the quality making the product more resistant against sudden temperature changes and furthermore increases chemical resistance of the glass.
Our product range varies from 40 mm up to 200 mm of diameter and annual production capacity is around 2.600.000 pcs.
Our products can be found under mark PETRIQ, Superior and many others virtually all around the world. Petri dishes are used abundantly in the laboratories, science, research and educational institutions.
Apart of Petri dishes and watch glass our production range includes also compote bowls, saucers and dessert plates from 77 up 240 mm of diameter.
